Key Projects
The Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (AVDP)
The project scope focuses on a comprehensive 10-year agriculture industrialization model valued at USD 244.45 million, aimed at developing centralized processing hubs, organizing community cooperatives, and launching digital marketplaces to strengthen agricultural value chains and market access.
The strategic objectives include transitioning smallholder farmers into climate-smart farming practices, constructing multi-crop processing hubs for high-grade export commodities, and establishing 100 Adaptation Community Plans (PCAs) to address climate change and improve community resilience.
The financial sourcing structure is supported through a strategic combination of Climate Grants, Concessional Financing, Private Equity, and Sponsor Capital Contributions to ensure sustainable implementation and long-term project growth.
Nsanje District Integrated Commercial Farm Expansion
The project scope focuses on an intensive commercial asset expansion that transforms 300 hectares of high-yield farmland into a vertically integrated agribusiness ecosystem supporting grain seed systems, livestock feedlots, and processing networks. The initiative is designed to strengthen agricultural productivity, value addition, and long-term food security.
The farm features and execution strategy include expanding existing cashew orchards from 20 hectares to 100 hectares of commercial production, while allocating 150 hectares to mechanized farming of maize, sorghum, millet, and soybeans. The project also aims to scale its livestock operations from 500 goats and 200 cows into advanced cattle feedlot systems supported by modern management practices.
To promote sustainability and climate resilience, the project incorporates green infrastructure through localized solar-powered water pumping stations and precision drip-irrigation systems designed to reduce dependence on rainfall and improve year-round agricultural production.
